CITIZENSHIP – PHILIPPIANS 3
There has been much discussion over recent years about citizenship. The Apostle Paul talks about a greater citizenship that believers possess than being citizens of any country here on earth. Believers are heavenly citizens. That citizenship reminds of two things. Take a moment to watch and find out.
BUT GOD…(EPHESIANS 2)
A few words can changes our lives forever: Will you marry me? We’re pregnant! I’m sorry to tell you. I have bad news. In Ephesians 2, Paul makes a statement that speaks of the radical change in believer’s lives – “But God…” When he steps into the scene, everything changes! FAITH & GRACE – ROMANS 4
I remember my heritage being mentioned various times as I grew up, especially in the phrase: “If you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much.” The Jews took pride in their heritage, but it gave them a false sense of security. Paul tells us in Romans 4 that salvation has never been by works. Rather, it is a beautiful portrait of faith and grace.
A MISSION OF HOPE – MATTHEW 28
Matthew 28 is a wonderful chapter as it concludes the book with a message of hope – CHRIST IS RISEN – and then calls believers to share that message with the world around them. We are comforted by the assurance that God himself is will us always as we do this.
YET NOT I, BUT CHRIST!
My wife showed me this song that a friend of our was teaching his church. This will be our theme song for the month of May – “Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me” (CityAlight). May that be our anthem, the tenor of our attitude every day as we walk this earth. “For from him and through him and for him are all thigns. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” Romans 11:36 NIV
ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE (APRIL 15, 2020)
As we go through this time, it is easy to be a deer in the headlights focusing on only the hear and now. Having and keeping an eternal perspective gives us hope and encourages us each day.
