The subject of gender and sexuality host to a plethora of questions as one seeks to understand it biblically and have a Christ-like response to this social issue of our day. Dual Citizenship (GPS Vlog #2)
Christians have a unique identity. Not only are we citizens of our respective countries of origin (or more generally citizens of earth), but we are also citizens of heaven. I find that when it comes to hot topics as we are discussing in our new sermon series that we tend to side with the earthly rather than heavenly citizenship. Today, we’re diving into this subject of dual citizenship and what it means for us in our interactions with others and…
WHERE’S THE BEEF? – FORGIVENESS (JAS 2:14-26)
Where’s the beef? It’s from the old Wendy’s commercial. James essentially asks that question as he talks about faith and works. He isn’t speaking about salvation but evidence of our faith in Christ. One of the crucial aspects of this subject regards relationships and within that forgiveness. Forgiveness is evidence of our abiding in Christ and submission to the Spirit’s work in our lives. What significance would such a shift have on Scripture, beliefs, and the Christian faith? We’re exploring that today.…

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW PAIN? (#ASKPD)
That is a hard question to answer and one that people have wrestled with since the beginning of time. Job wrestled with this which we read about in the Old Testament. While we can’t cover it entirely, I’d like to offer a few thoughts on pain from the point of Scripture and how it may in fact be useful in a sense. The knowledge doesn’t make the circumstance or process easier always, but it does give us a foundation through…
STRANGE FEET UNDER YOUR TABLE (LUKE 5)
In Luke 5 as Jesus calls Levi, we see that he has a feast with the “undesirables” of his day. The Pharisees condemned him for it. Yet they were the ones in need of the hope he spoke of and the compassion he showed. Many of us have neighbors in need of that same hope and compassion and what better place to show them that than around our own table over a meal. As Paul Tripp says, let’s put strange…
