The Church & The One Anothers
September 3, 2023 Service & Communion (“Got Community?”)
Thank you for joining us online as we worship, pray, and study the Word of God together. Today, Pastor Daniel will be sharing another message in a series of topical sermons for the summer, this time focused on the importance of community within the Church. We will be observing communion as well, so pause for a moment, grab a piece of bread and some juice as we reflect on the sacrifice of our Savior who brought us salvation. God bless.…
“Glass or Wool?”
Odd sermon title isn’t it? What could Pastor Paul possibly be talking about from the Scriptures with a title like that? Through the course of the sermon, Pastor Paul pieces together passages of Scripture concerning the church as he puts together the puzzle giving to us a picture and basis for church membership. While he concludes with that topic, the application of the Scriptures throughout are much broader and will reach each listeners life.
“Loving God. Loving Others.”
We have spent the last few months talking about the “one anothers” found in the Scriptures. We now look back and review what we have learned these past months and focus on applying them in our lives. The focus of this church, this local body, for many years has been Loving God. Loving Others. The “one anothers” are at the core of this. The love we have for one another is seen as we practice these things from Scripture. And our…
“Service – A One Another Not Just A Department”
We are still talking about the one anothers and for good reason. The one anothers are vital to the health and ministry of the church. Service is one of the most important. It is through service one another that we even have the ministry of the church. Christ, Himself, set the example and manner in which we are to serve. How does that look in a present day context and why should I even be motivated to serve? We look…
“The Liberty Limiting Principles”
Because of Christ’s work on the cross, those that have placed their faith in Him for salvation have freedom. Paul discuss these liberties in Romans 14 but challenges us as well in respect to them. How do you balance the new liberty in Christ with not becoming a stumbling block to others? What is or can actually be considered a stumbling block? These questions and more are answered in this sermon as we continue to look at the one anothers.
“What To Do When There Are No Commands”
The Bible often gives us commands of what to do. But what happens when you come across something that the Bible doesn’t gives us a specific command or say explicitly, “Thus saith the Lord”?
“Greet One Another with a Holy Kiss”
Don’t worry. You won’t be asked to kiss anyone. Listen though about the attitude behind the action in this sermon as we continue to expound on the one anothers found in Scripture.
“The One Anothers Continued”
Take a listen as we continue to work through the one anothers not only found in the book of Ephesians but throughout the New Testament. One anothers like encourage and build up one another, admonish one another, comfort one another, and assemble together with one another.
“Keep on Becoming…”
We have learned what we need to put off in Ephesians 4:31. Now let’s look at the one anothers and what we are to become as the Apostle Paul explains how this is to be a pursuit in our lives.
“Being Doers Means Putting Off the Old”
Have you ever considered that the old self, as the Apostle Paul mentions in Ephesians 4, might just be hindering your practice of the one anothers? Spend some time reading Ephesians 4 and take a listen to what God has to say about letting go of the old self (the habits, practices, etc.) and putting on the new self which emulates Christ.
“Clarifying Our Thinking about Church”
What is your understanding of the church? Do you see it as the building you enter on a Sunday morning? Walk through the book of Acts with this sermon and understand the beginning of the church and what God had in mind when He put it together.
“Church – A Community of Believers” – Part 2
We find in the Scriptures that the church is not just a physical location or a building we walk into. The church is a body of believers. Learn more about this community of people in this sermon on 1 Corinthians 12.

It’s a location. It’s a building. It’s an organization. No, it’s much more than that. Take time to discover what the church is.
“What Does It Mean to Be a Doer?”
We looked at why we need to be doers of the Word of God last week. Now let’s dig deeper and discover what it means to actually be a doer of the Word of God.
