Pastor Daniel grew up on a farm in northwestern Illinois. He began serving at Grace Bible Church as full-time staff in August of 2008 as a pastoral intern after completing his schooling. In 2009, he graduated from Calvary Bible College (B.A., Pastoral Studies 2009), was voted in by the congregation as the Associate Pastor of GBC, and married his college sweetheart, Michelle. As the Associate Pastor, he was in charge of the youth & young adults ministries at GBC and in addition to that was involved with the preaching on Sunday mornings and various other ministries of the church.
It was the foresight of the GBC leadership to bring on someone to train in the ministry and gain the trust of the people with the goal of making a future transition of leadership seamless as such times under traditional procedures can disrupt the church life. This was the guiding thought in adding Pastor Daniel to the staff in 2008. In April of 2017, the church voted in favor of the transition of leadership between Pastors Paul & Daniel. Officially in August 2017, Daniel began in the role of Senior Pastor of GBC, and Paul became the new Teaching & Ministries Pastor. Daniel is continuing his schooling through Liberty University Online with the goal of completing a Master of Divinity in Christian Leadership & Church Ministries in an effort to further his knowledge & training in the pastoral ministry to be able to better serve those who call GBC home.
In addition to the ministry at GBC, Daniel also volunteers in as a first responder, firefighter, and fire chaplain. Michelle works as an administrative assistant at the local cooperative. These areas of volunteering & employment afford both of them key connections with the community surrounding GBC and give them the opportunity to interact and reach out to the community around them. Daniel & Michelle have three young children who are near and dear to their heart and bring a smile to the faces of all who meet them. In their spare time, Daniel enjoys hunting, fishing, and woodworking, and Michelle has a gift for hospitality, enjoys gardening, and when she has occasion, likes to wet a line in search for a bass or two.
